Which Giti tire is approved for the BMW iX1 and BMW iX2?

The GitiSynergy H3 has secured original-equipment nominations for the all-electric BMW iX1 and BMW iX2 in size 245/40 R20 99Y XL.

The tire was engineered to meet BMW Group requirements for efficiency, handling, noise, wear life and sustainability. It achieves an A rating for rolling resistance under the EU tire-labelling system and carries BMW's star homologation marking.

Giti designed the tire at its European Research and Development Centre in Hannover, Germany. Testing took place at Giti's MIRA proving ground in the United Kingdom, with additional validation in Germany and Spain. Learn more about the GitiSynergy H3 for BMW iX1 and iX2.

GitiSynergy H3 for BMW electric vehicles

The GitiSynergy H3 was specifically engineered to meet BMW Group's requirements for its latest electric vehicle platforms.

Development focused on balancing:

EV efficiency
Exceptionally low rolling resistance helps reduce energy losses.

Handling
The tire was developed so that low rolling resistance would not come at the expense of vehicle handling.

Noise and comfort
Reduced tire noise supports the quieter driving environment of an electric vehicle.

Wear life
The tire was engineered for extended wear performance.

Aerodynamics
The OE specification incorporates an aerodynamic sidewall design.

What does the BMW * marking mean?

The * marking on the tire sidewall indicates that the tire has been homologated by BMW Group according to the manufacturer's Original Equipment specifications.

Developed in Europe. Tested across Europe.

The BMW iX1/iX2 fitment was designed and engineered at Giti Tire's European Research & Development Centre in Hannover, Germany.

Testing was conducted at Giti's MIRA proving ground in the United Kingdom, with additional validation at locations in Germany and Spain.

The program used Giti AdvanZtech, Giti's globally integrated research and development platform.

Key Takeaway

The BMW iX1 and iX2 OE nomination demonstrates Giti's ability to engineer EV tires that balance very low rolling resistance with handling, noise, wear and other requirements set by a premium vehicle manufacturer.
