GITI SHIELD+ PROGRAM – SINGAPORE
WHAT IS GITI SHIELD+ PROGRAM
The Giti Shield+ is a limited 3-month road hazard warranty program, that provides a one-time free tire replacement for eligible road hazard damage. This program is offered in addition to Giti’s 5-Year Standard Limited Warranty and Limited Mileage Warranty and does not alter or void existing coverage. This program is designed to provide peace of mind and a confident driving experience, backed by tires that have undergone one of the industry’s most rigorous and reliable quality control processes.
1. GITI SHIELD+ PROGRAM COVERAGE
All Giti and GT Radial branded passenger car tires purchased from an authorised Giti Tire Singapore dealer or workshop are eligible for one-time 1-to-1 tire replacement in the event of irreparable tire damage caused by road hazards, subject to the program’s terms and conditions.
Giti Shield+ Program Warranty*
Covers irreparable tire damage caused by road hazards during the first three (3) months from the date of purchase due to:
- Impact or cuts to the tread, shoulder, or sidewall
- Penetration by sharp objects, provided the resulting damage is irreparable and cannot be safely repaired in accordance with industry standards.
- Deep cuts resulting in oxidation-related failure
2. ELIGIBILITY
This Giti Shield+ Program applies to new Giti and GT Radial branded passenger car tires produced by the manufacturer that bears the corresponding Tire Identification Numbers (TIN) and sold by an authorised Giti Tire Singapore dealer or workshop.
To qualify for coverage under the Giti Shield+ Program, the following conditions must be met:
- Eligible Purchase
- With the purchase of one (1) eligible Giti or GT Radial passenger car tire, the customer is required to register to activate the GitiShield+ Program.
- To enjoy the benefits under the Giti Shield+ Program (3-month road hazard warranty), tires must be purchased from an authorised Giti Tire Singapore dealer or workshop listed on https://www.giti.com.sg/dealer-locator
- Registration must be submitted within seven (7) calendar days from the date of purchase to activate GitiShield+ benefits (see Section 3).
- Online Registration
- Tires must be registered within seven (7) calendar days of purchase via https://www.giti.com.sg/tire-registration
- Registration must include all required information such as personal details, vehicle information, and proof of purchase (e.g., receipt).
- Eligible Benefits
Upon successful registration, customers will receive:
- A one-time 1-to-1 tire replacement in the event of irreparable tire damage due to road hazards
- No-charge replacement within the three (3) months road hazard warranty period from the date of purchase, subject to verification and remaining tread depth (≥5mm).
- Hassle-free claims process at the original point of purchase
- Peace of mind protection, in addition to the Giti’s Standard 5-Year Limited Warranty and Limited Mileage Warranty
- Claim Conditions
- Customers must return to the same authorised dealer or workshop where the tires were originally purchased to request a replacement.
- Any irreparable tire damage due to road hazards will be replaced at no charge, for the tire (excluding service-related costs), provided all claim conditions are met.
- Single-Use Coverage
- Tires replaced under this program are not eligible for other warranty claim.
After the initial three (3) months, the Giti Shield+ Warranty expires, and tire replacement will no longer be provided at no charge. Any subsequent claims will be subject to the terms of the Manufacturer’s Warranty, which offers pro-rated compensation for material and/or workmanship defects if the tire is reported within the first 1.6 mm of the original tread depth.
Once the tread wears beyond the first 1.6 mm of the original usable tread, any warranty claim due to a substantiated defect in materials and/or workmanship will be processed on a prorated basis for the remainder of the warranty period, until the tread is worn down to 1.6 mm.
The eligible tire must be operated under normal service conditions and used on the same vehicle on which it was originally installed, in accordance with the vehicle manufacturer’s recommendations. The warranty period for the tube and flap is 2 (two) years from the date of manufacture.
3. REGISTRATION
Giti Shield+ program is a limited 3-month road hazard warranty, available only to customers who complete the required registration process.
Please note: Registration is only required to activate the Giti Shield+ Warranty. It is not required for the 5-Year Standard Limited Warranty and Limited Mileage Warranty.
Each tire must be registered for the Giti Shield+ Program within seven (7) calendar days from the date of purchase. Registration after the 7-day period will not be accepted*.
To activate the Giti Shield+ Warranty, the registration must be completed online at https://www.giti.com.sg/tire-registration. The registration can be completed by either the participating workshop or the customer and must include all mandatory information.
The following details are required:
- Full name and contact information of the vehicle owner
- Authorised Giti Tire Singapore dealer details
- Vehicle details (make/model/registration number)
- Tire details (including barcode if applicable)
- Proof of purchase (sales invoice or official receipt)
Failure to register within the required time frame will result in ineligibility for Giti Shield+ warranty coverage.
Important: All authorised Giti Tire Singapore dealers or workshops are independent contractors and not agents or employees of Giti. Giti assumes no liability for any personal injury and/or damage to your vehicle or property arising from the services rendered by these workshops, or for any personal belongings left in the vehicle. Any such claims must be submitted to the workshops directly to the respective workshop.
By providing your personal data and submitting the same, you shall be deemed to be giving consent to the collection, storage, and/or processing of your personal data pursuant to the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 and any other data protection regulations/legislations.
4. COVERAGE
The Giti Shield+ Program is valid for three (3) months from the date of purchase and ≧5mm remaining tread depth. It covers all Giti and GT Radial branded passenger tires purchased from an authorised Giti Tire Singapore dealers or workshop. This program is provided in addition to, and does not replace, Giti’s existing 5-Year Standard Limited Warranty and Limited Mileage Warranty.
Under this program, you may exchange the affected tire(s) for new Giti brand tires of the same size and pattern at the same authorised Giti Tire Singapore dealer/workshop where the tire(s) were purchased for 1-for-1 tire replacement. In cases where the exact model is not available, comparable** new Giti brand tires may be offered as a replacement.
Important Notes:
- Coverage is limited to the original set of newly purchased tires and does not apply to replacement tires.
- “No charge replacement” refers strictly to the cost of the replacement tire. Service fees (e.g., mounting, balancing, valve, or taxes) are not included and are to be borne by the customer.
- If the replacement tire is an upgrade over the original model, any price difference must be paid by the customer.
- The damaged tire must be physically presented at the original authorised Giti Tire Singapore dealer or workshop at the time of the claim.
- There is no mileage limit under the 3-month Road Hazard Warranty.
Evidence of tires: As part of the Giti Shield+ Program, participating workshops are required to provide photographic evidence confirming that the affected tire(s) have been removed from service. This evidence must include clear images of the following:
- The complete tire (entire sidewall and tread visible)
- D.O.T. serial number (fully legible)
- Remaining tread depth (measured and clearly shown)
- Damaged area(s) of the tire (highlighting the unrepairable issue)
This documentation is mandatory for all claims to ensure proper verification and traceability. Claims submitted without the required evidence may be delayed or rejected.
5. WHAT IS NOT COVERED BY THE GITI SHIELD+ PROGRAM
The Giti Shield+ Program does not cover damage or conditions arising from:
- Tires used for commercial or public utility purposes*** (e.g., taxi, private hire, or car rental services)
- Improper mounting/dismounting, inflation, or tire maintenance
- Mechanical issues such as misalignment, imbalance, or suspension faults
- Competition, motorsport, or off-road use
- Use with incompatible wheels or rims
- Improper storage or chemical exposure and sparks from welding works
- Accidents, vandalism, or environmental/weather-related damage
- Second-hand tires or tires purchased from unauthorised sellers
- Tires with altered, defaced, or missing serial numbers
- Cosmetic damage that does not compromise tire safety or structure
- Loss of life, injuries, and vehicle damage
- Buffed or cut tire serial numbers, or damage caused by the use of tubes or flaps
- Alterations (such as but not limited to):
- Thread grooving
- Tire truing or siping
- Adding sealant other than the original sealant supplied by the tire manufacturer
- Tires that have been repaired or retreaded
- Replacement of accessories or adjustment items
- Defects or damage existing prior to the commencement of the policy
- Incidental or consequential damage (e.g., telephone calls, towing, car rental charges, hotel charges, loss of time, or commercial loss)
- Spare tires
6. GITI’S OBLIGATIONS AND WARRANTY CLAIM PROCESS
Giti Shield+ warranty coverage is applicable only to customers who have successfully completed the online registration process, as outlined in Section 3: Registration.
To file a claim:
- The customer will be offered a one-time 1-to-1 tire replacement of the damaged tire, subject to verification and availability.
- The customer must return to the same authorised Giti Tire Singapore dealer/workshop where the tire(s) were originally purchased.
- The damaged tire must be physically presented for inspection.
- Customers must provide the original purchase receipt and registration confirmation/e-warranty card as proof of eligibility.
Please note:
- No cash compensation will be provided.
- “No charge replacement” refers strictly to the cost of the replacement tire. Service fees (e.g., mounting, balancing, valve, or taxes) are not included and are to be borne by the customer.
- This program applies only to the first set of newly purchased tires and does not cover replacement tires.
- Giti Tire’s decision on any claims shall be final. Additional photographic or physical evidence may be requested as necessary (refer to Section 4).
7. LIMITATIONS & LEGAL NOTICE
This warranty is applicable only within Singapore, and is subject to the laws of Singapore and the exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore Courts.
Giti Tire reserves the right to make the final inspection and determination on the condition of all tires returned under the Giti Shield+ Program. Please note: The Giti Shield+ Program does not guarantee that tire failure will not occur, and does not cover damage resulting from neglect or misuse, such as improper use, lack of maintenance, or external damage.
* The tire bead barcode will be covered by the rim once mounted. Hence, it is strongly encouraged that you register the tire at the location of the workshop itself before the tire is mounted or alternatively take a photo of the tire bead barcode should you intend to register later (but subject to the 7-days period under section 3 above).
** A “comparable” new Giti brand tire may be of either the same tire line or the same basic construction but with a different sidewall or tread configuration. The Giti Shield+ Program covers tires of equal or lesser value. If the end consumer accepts a higher priced tire, the end consumer is responsible for covering any difference in price.
*** Commercial service means company registered vehicles, e-hailing service, taxis, police cars, emergency vehicles, non-passenger service vehicles, are not eligible for Giti Shield+ Program. Tire(s) on any vehicle registered and operated outside Malaysia are excluded from eligibility under Giti Shield+ Program.
