Giti Teams Up with Chevrolet to Take on China’s Tough Terrains
In 2018, Giti Tire has been taking to the far reaches of China with Chevrolet - allowing professionals, opinion leaders, media, and others to experience its all-terrain and highway-terrain tires in person. The ‘Chevrolet's Most Beautiful China’ series takes 15 vehicles through some of the hottest, coldest, most humid, and high-elevation regions of China, putting Giti’s offerings through some of the ultimate driving conditions.
As the exclusive tire provider of the series, Giti Tire has the responsibility to allow each Chevrolet vehicle to safely withstand the long distances and considerable challenges. In the recent series focused on the humid and extreme conditions of China’s southwestern Yunnan province, deep mud and wet conditions put Giti and Chevrolet to the test. Through torrential storms, muddy and hot tropical rain forests, and complex road and off-road adjustments, the Giti cross-country tires completed the extremely wet land exploration task with excellent performance, winning the unanimous approval of all professional experience.
Among these tires, the Giti cross-country HT152 is especially developed for the road conditions of both cities and countryside driving, including in wetlands. The Giti4x4 HT152 adopts a widened tread design to further improve the grip of the tires. Meanwhile, the advanced formula improves the anti-wet and anti-slipping ability, helping to shorten the distance of the braking and ensuring the safety of driving. In addition, the unique 3mm rubbing bar and 2 layers of high strength body cord, increase the strength of the tire, reducing sidewall damage, and coping with the harsh sand and gravel road conditions encountered during driving.
At the same time, the Giti4x4 AT100 is a full road tire for off-road vehicles and SUVs. The AT100 wedge pattern allows powerful drainage function, water film cutting, increase of rubber ground area, and achievement of better wet braking performance. The large and extensive drainage grooves, designed like developed drainage pipes, also ensure that the tread is firmly on the ground, and the tread pattern has better self-cleaning abilities, improving grip through gravel and rocky driving.
Earlier this year, Giti and Chevrolet challenged the heights and mountains of the western Tibetan region, while later installments in 2018 will also take on extreme dry heat and freezing cold conditions in other parts of the country. Like in Giti’s variety of global motorsports activities, these cross-country trials allow Giti’s R&D teams to view the conditions of the tires in the toughest of challenges, allowing the ability to study the results and tailor products to everyday drivers.
Giti Tire’s China Marketing Director Chen Fuzhong added: "Giti Tire’s participation in the ‘Chevrolet's Most Beautiful China’ series of exploration activities is to highlight the excellence of Giti as a strong supplier of Chevrolet. It also increases product confidence, through joint market activities, using multimedia to show Giti’s benefits to consumers, and allow them to experience the excellent product performance of Giti. Through 'Use Giti to Explore', it elevates the excitement about the spirit of Giti as an explorer's brand."
